This is the food that astronauts eat. Space food is dehydrated, and it would be carried with the other supplies to provide more supplies to the astronauts at the space stations. After the arrival of the supply, the astronauts pour water in the bags of the food to hydrate it, and it taste just as good.👍💯 Astronauts in the space station have a recycling water system, where 98% of the drinking water they use is recycled water. They recycle water from the humidity in the space station. They also recycle urine to get water. Then, the water will be processed to be even cleaner than the regular drinking water. 👍 @uaespaceagency@uaespaceyouth#space#nasa#spacex#compass#rocketry#rockets#spacestation#station#me

Solar System - Milky Way Galaxy . . The Milky Way is the galaxy[nb 1] that contains our Solar System. The descriptor "milky" is derived from the galaxy's appearance from Earth: a band of light seen in the night sky formed from stars that cannot be individually distinguished by the naked eye. The term Milky Way is a translation of the Latin via lactea, from the Greek γαλαξίας κύκλος (galaxías kýklos, "milky circle").[22][23][24] From Earth, the Milky Way appears as a band because its disk-shaped structure is viewed from within. Galileo Galilei first resolved the band of light into individual stars with his telescope in 1610. Until the early 1920s, most astronomers thought that the Milky Way contained all the stars in the Universe.[25] Following the 1920 Great Debate between the astronomers Harlow Shapley and Heber Curtis,[26] observations by Edwin Hubble showed that the Milky Way is just one of many galaxies. . . . #nasa#nasa🚀#nasabah#space#science#nebula#stars#spacestation#spaceshuttle#saturn#moon#universe#spacex#mars#galaxy#earth#blackhole#art#venus#sun#station#star#spacetime#prudential#planets#mercury#astrophysics#astrophotography#tips#time Powered by @TagOmatic

@nasa Ever wondered what auroras look like from space? Astronaut Alexander Gerst (@Astro_Alex_ESA) gives us his space-based view from aboard the International Space Station (@ISS), tweeting that the experience is "[m]ind-blowing, every single time." The dancing lights of the auroras provide spectacular views on the ground and from space, but also capture the imagination of scientists who study incoming energy and particles from the Sun. Auroras are one effect of such energetic particles, which can speed out from the sun both in a steady stream called the solar wind and due to giant eruptions known as coronal mass ejections. After a trip toward Earth that can last 2 or 3 days, the solar particles and magnetic fields cause the release of particles already trapped near Earth, which in turn trigger reactions in the upper atmosphere in which oxygen and nitrogen molecules release photons of light. The result: the Northern and Southern lights. Would YOU go to space as a tourist? 🚀 😱 Though we’ve been living in the Space Age for more than half a century, going into space remains an extreme rarity. Fewer than 600 people have gone above the Kármán line — the point, about 62 miles above Earth, that marks the beginning of space — and all were put there by the U.S. or another nation's government. But the rise of private spaceflight companies like Virgin Galactic and Space X means that the final frontier may soon be within reach of a great many more of us. The firms have announced plans to put private astronauts, a.k.a. space tourists, on orbital or suborbital flights within the next few years. Some projections put the global space tourism market at more than $34 billion by 2021.

In my previous post, I discussed how the sun influences our planet’s climate and why it’s worth looking into if the sun is causing current climate change. The Earth’s global average temperature is rising. This is pretty sound science, and so I won’t go into too much discussion yet into the reasons why we know that (I’ll go through the evidence in more depth later on). The sun drives our climate, so is it possible that the increases in temperature we are observing is a result of changes to the sun? It’s entirely possible, but scientists have actually found no evidence that the sun is causing Earth’s current warming trend. In fact, the sun has actually been going through periods of cooling in recent years, yet the Earth’s temperature has continued to climb regardless. Furthermore, if the current warming trend was a result of increased solar radiation, we would expect to see a uniform warming throughout the Earth’s atmosphere. Instead, we only observe significant warming in layers of the atmosphere closer to the ground while there has been observed cooling in the upper regions of the atmosphere. This makes sense when we consider the fact that greenhouse gases trap heat closer to the surface. We can now safely assume that the sun is likely not the culprit behind Earth’s warming. . 🔭 Double taps & Follow us for daily inspiration . 📷 Repost: @astrophysics_ . @astrocorner#interstellar#spaceman#spacex#spaceart#hubble#cosmonaut#spacecraft#spaceshuttle#milkywaychasers#universetoday#constellation#spacestation#astrophoto#outerspace#milkywaygalaxy#stargazing#bestoftheday#share4share#picoftheday#like4like

I often look to see when the space station will be passing overhead at night. I never get bored of watching it's wonder. It isn't just about the technology and skill of the mechanics and engineering of the station that I admire. To me it is more about the people up there, in it, who will have devoted years of study, academia and fitness testing to even be able to apply for the space programme in the first place. They will have sacrificed so much too. They give me hope and inspiration because they never gave in to their dream. They struggled and persevered with every challenge that was given to them. Having a chronic illness shares many attributes to that of those on the space station; we see life through a different lense, we have to control our daily variables v carefully, we both have to have a lot of perseverance and determination and deal with many challenges that come our way. Things are never stable for long. However, I think ultimately we both want the same thing in life, a better future. Don't let your chronic condition define you. Look up at the sky and watch the station pass by. That is an example of what happens if you keep moving forwards towards your goal. It doesn't matter how fast you go. Just keep going forwards. #chronicillness#strength#courage#positivity#spacestation#canada#inspire#dream#mountillness#goals

Repost @nasa Ever wondered what auroras look like from space? Astronaut Alexander Gerst (@Astro_Alex_ESA) gives us his space-based view from aboard the International Space Station (@ISS), tweeting that the experience is \"[m]ind-blowing, every single time.\" The dancing lights of the auroras provide spectacular views on the ground and from space, but also capture the imagination of scientists who study incoming energy and particles from the Sun. Regrann from @nasa - Our Moon in all its glory is seen in this image captured by European Space Agency (@europeanspaceagency) astronaut Alexander Gerst (@Astro_Alex_esa) from the vantage point of the International Space Station (@iss). He posted it to social media saying, “Personality check: [does this photo] make you want to stay at home, or check out what's back there behind the horizon?” Currently, six humans are living and working on the space station, which orbits our planet from 250 miles above at 17,500 mph. While onboard, they conduct important science and research that not only benefits life here on Earth, but will help send humans deeper into the solar system than ever before.
